Surrendering To Freedom Stepping Into Grace
It was a very beautiful morning; she was sitting upstairs by her desk in front of the hall window. She was staring down the apple trees which were blossoming; the vineyard beyond were also noticeable. All of a sudden, a home finch flew inside the house and passed through the open window. The flapping sound of its wings made it very noticeable.
While the finch was flying all around the hall, she watched it carefully. The flinch was flying banging all the windows, getting into the office, and trying its best to get out of the house. She finally flew out of the office window which it did not notice was very much wide open and is just 10 inches away from it.
She was very calm and patient while watching the finch flapping her wings. Suddenly, the finch stopped flapping her wings and stopped onto her finger. The flinch sat at her finger calmly and quietly feeling like it was resting on top of a branch of a tree.
She felt that they had a communion during that moment. She felt that she and the finch had an understanding. She was reluctant to let go of that connection, but she also knew that their connection was a part of trust that the finch had given her. She then shifted her hands to the open window.
The finch then suddenly felt that it was a moment of freedom, it was aware that it is now out in the open. It flew immediately outside the window, taking advantage of the liberty given to it. The finch chirped with gratitude as if talking to her and said thank you. She then realized that she was pretty much like the finch. She always resisted the people who wanted to help her; she is hopelessly running away from the routing that is being offered to her.
Her hand may serve as the people, or God, or anybody who wants to be there for her and help her, and always reaching out to her, trying to give her the liberty that she wants. Right at that moment, she imagined that she was settling in the hands of God, just like that finch had settled into her arms. From that moment on, she was able to release all her worries and let the Almighty God lead her life.
